What to Expect at The Bake Sale
Open Hand's 2nd Annual Bake Sale comes just in time for the holidays. Join us on Saturday, November 21st in the Open Hand Teaching Kitchen! Every sweet loaf is made, with love, by our Workforce Development apprentices as part of their training, and every purchase supports the program.

Cohort 8 of our Culinary Workforce Development Program will be preparing an array of holiday goodies at the event, including:
    • Sweet Loaf samples
    • Mimosas
    • Hot chocolate & coffee
    • ... and more!
You'll get the opportunity to learn more about our incredible program, which has helped over 90% of its graduates land careers in the culinary industry since its start in 2025. Talk to our apprentices about their experience, and learn from our program instructors what makes our Culinary Workforce Development program a recipe for success.

We're also excited to have our wonderful partner, Giving Kitchen, join us at the Bake Sale! Learn more about their incredible work in the community and how you can get involved.

    About Giving Kitchen

About Open Hand's Culinary Workforce Development Program
The Stephen Woods Culinary Workforce Development Program was launched in early 2025 to prepare aspiring chefs and culinary professionals for careers in the food service industry. Named after our former Executive Director, Stephen Woods, the Culinary Workforce Development program is more than a culinary training class: it is a culinary workforce pipeline. It is designed to empower those experiencing unemployment, underemployment, those who are on public assistance, or anyone looking for a fresh start. We focus on creating a safe environment where personalized training can be offered that puts apprentices on a path to long-term employment.

    Can't Join the Bake Sale?
You can still order our sweet loaves in time for the holidays! Simply go to goodmeasuremeals.com/bakeshop to place your order, and the loaves will be delivered directly to your door. (3 loaf minimum order)
