Nielson associates here in Atlanta identify and lead projects that are important to us -- those which make a tremendous impact on our community. This year, since we will not be able to do our large day of service at Open Hand Atlanta, we wanted to help this vital community organization in their efforts to address the dramatic increase in demand for their services as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. This fundraising campaign will help Open Hand to reach thousands of medically-fragile individuals most susceptible to the virus, and low-income families now facing severe food insecurity as a result of the devastating economic impact of the pandemic.

Please consider making a donation yourself, but more importantly, reach out to your family, friends and extended social network to ask them to support our efforts. Together, we can help ensure that thousands of our most vulnerable neighbors have access to healthy food during this incredibly trying time.
Open Hand typically prepares, packs and delivers over 5,000 meals EACH DAY, but the pandemic has driven up the number of meals they are producing to well over 6,000 per day. They are also working with other community-based organizations to help distribute fresh fruit and vegetables to food-insecure communities and shipping meals to rural communities in south, middle and north Georgia in dire need of their help.
